The Secret Safe! This Might Be Your Chance To Win 100 Grand!
By Katie W.
I heard there was a safe in somebody’s car that hadn’t been opened for two years. When I heard that, I couldn’t believe it. Who wouldn’t want to know what riches or trash might lie inside the safe? Our local news station KEZI and newspaper The Register Guard reported on the safe so it had to be real.
I never dreamed that someone I knew would know about this mysterious safe, but then I heard that Massimo’s dad, Peter was the one who found the safe hidden behind a wall in a old barn that he owned in Grant’s Pass. I had to see this safe for myself and it seemed I was in luck on Wednesday. When Peter came to my school, the safe was hidden in the trunk of his ordinary Subaru. He asked me if I wanted to see it for myself. How could I resist seeing the mysterious safe lying in the trunk? When I saw it, the safe was still dusty and had cobwebs at the bottom of the wheels. It looked like this:
Peter plans to donate it to the Roosevelt Middle School Showcase Auction on Friday 4/25/2013. Bidders will be able to place bids online. The highest bidder will get to open the safe and keep whatever is inside. No one that I know of can guess the combination of this safe so the opening will be a big surprise for everyone. A locksmith will be there at the auction and will try to open the safe at 8:30pm. I can’t wait! I think that the safe will contain a bar of gold, a silver ingot and very precious silver and gold coins.
Tell us here at the Edison Lightbulb what you think might be in the safe waiting to be discovered. The closest 4 guesses to the real contents of the safe will win a 100 Grand candy bar that will be mailed to them. Please know that this contest is open only to residents of the U.S., but we promise our foreign readers bragging rights if they have a good guess. We promise to keep your information private except for your first name, last initial and hometown. Tell us what you think is inside this mysterious safe!

This is really great. Go Peter! Sorta exciting.
Thanks! Do you think there is anything inside this mysterious safe?
I think it’s full of moldy old cash, gold and silver coins, and maybe even a rusty old broken revolver. It definitely was heavy but made a strange clinking noise when he tipped it. I would live to know its history…
Great guess! It’s still a mystery though… I wonder what’s inside…
Wow! Very intriguing!
I would like to know more about the previous owner. I would ask Peter some questions about what he knows about who used to own this barn.
However, I guess that it has documents in it related to land title , house or car, ownership deeds. Legal documents related to owning property.
Thanks for this story
Scott
Thank you! I would also like to know who owned it before Peter did. I will ask him about who used to own the barn. You’re welcome for the safe story. What do you think is inside the safe?
With 1 minute to go, the highest bid was $4415! …but we still don’t know what’s inside!
