The Dog Ate My Homework
By Katie W., Grade 4
The dog ate my homework
And I don’t know why
Maybe he was hungry
Or his mouth was dry
A goat ate my homework
Flying on the breeze
He chewed it from the corner
And the taste made him wheeze
A fish ate my homework
With teeth as sharp as can be
He chewed it to a mushy ball
Before climbing up a tree
A timelord ate my homework
With a slice of pear
He flew away in a blue box
It could be anywhere
An ewok ate my homework
With a wooden spear
Wait…there it is crumpled in my backpack
I guess I can turn it in, so here
That sure is some slobbery, mushy, sticky, torn up homework! Nicely written, Katie!
