I wish I were …
I wish I were a piece of opal
I wish I were a pair of figure skates
I wish I were a quaint and beautiful tiara
I wish I were a dragon all fiery and red
I wish I were a bluebird just nestled overhead
I wish I were the sunshine all beautiful with rays
I wish I were a hiking trail that runs about two ways
I wish I were a blue sky with birds all flying north
I wish I were a turkey with feathers blowing back and forth

I love your article! Your amazing creative imagination is like your hiking trail that runs about two ways. Except your imagination runs about every way in our big, wide, wonderful world! Keep up the good work.
P.S. I’m a pastor and wrote lots of sermons. Sometimes I could have used your imagination to help me out!

I loved your poem. It made me feel peaceful and I could see the world through your eyes for a moment. I posted it on my facebook page and many of my friends loved it too.
Raisa, this is a really lovely poem. You’ve chosen words and put them together in a way that makes me see what you are thinking. And now that it’s posted, a lot of people have read it. Here are some things people have said on Facebook about your poem:

“This inspired my son, who has to memorize a poem for next week in his 2nd grade class, to write his own.” – Carolyn Mahoney Lopez
“Wise beyond her years. Beautiful!” – Dinah Kretschmer
