Pet Food Drive
By Natalie H., 4th grade
Editor’s Note: The pet food drive is done. Natalie’s drive collected two full car loads of pet food and donations for Greenhill. She and a few friends unloaded it all at Greenhill. Natalie started this pet food drive because she wanted to help animals and found out she was too young to volunteer at Greenhill, so she did this instead. A lot of people struggling to take care of their pets will benefit from her ideas and efforts to make this happen!
Natalie, I’m so impressed by what you’ve done! A lot of people give up when someone tells them they can’t. Other people think problems are too big to solve. But you decided to do something and you worked hard to make it happen. Did your arms hurt after unloading all that food at Greenhill? Who helped you? If you send us the photo from unloading the donations, we will post it!
NIcely done, Edison! And wonderful leadership, Natalie. When we dropped off the food, we visited all the animals. One sweet dog was there, surrendered for “financial reasons” and it felt a tiny bit better to know that the generosity of the community might help spell a few families through a rough spot and allow them to keep their pets fed.
